Main Street Arkansas is a program for downtown revitalization. We're housed in the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
GOOD NEWS from Marion, AR for one of the buildings on this year's Most Endangered Places List. The Marion School Board voted Thursday evening to approve a new building plan which meets the school's needs and spares the Old Marion High School building. The board gave proponents of saving the 1912 school one year to raise money to rehab the historic building. The Marion Historic Society and the Marion alumni group will begin fundraising efforts immediately.
